OP here - thanks for all the tips so far! Would you mind sharing the name of the agency? Working with a reputable group would be so helpful!

Yes. You should offer guaranteed hours (you promise to pay the same amount every week, even if you go on vacation or otherwise don't need the nanny) and may need to pay a slightly higher-than-usual hourly rate (nannies in DC area charge $15-20 per hour, so you should look for $18-22) to balance the lower hours, but she should be able to pick up morning or weekend jobs with those hours.

There are definitely people out there looking for this schedule. I would assume you would have the most luck with a college student with morning classes only. I'm sure though that a student isn't your only option.

We may need someone who can care for our 9-mo from noon - 5 M-F. Are these hours that a nanny would take or do we have to hire someone full-time? Are nannies comfortable driving to pick up the child and bring her home at noon?
First time potential employer and looking to learn how to hire someone! Thanks for your help.
