This is what causes so much confusion on this board. You have a babysitter not a nanny.

You can if you feel close to her as a person and feel her service has been exceptional.

But if you do not, it is not in bad faith or anything.

I do not think she is expecting anything.

But don't forget to express your gratitude at least.

A "Thank You" goes a long way for us nannies.

I'm a nanny and I do shares a lot or occasionally have a third child add on for a few hrs a week for a few weeks or take them on a day off regularly for a specified period of time etc. I always acknowledge the child on their last day w/ me and take them on a special outing, get ice cream or whatever. I have never had a family acknowledge me in return. It's not a big deal but I am sure she'd appreciate it and it would make her feel good.

Let the kids make her a card. It will mean a lot to them and to her as a symbol of your intention to keep her in their lives.

I don't know from "should" - but it would be a lovely thought and well-remembered by the nanny.
