I'm a nanny and it's also my last day
I got them personalized canvas/frames with a text montage of names, places that we used throughout the years.I hope they like it. Its in a pink, heart shape from "Lillian Vernon".
The only down side about this is that i had to frame it myself(the frame comes into pieces).

I typed out a sort of story of what we did over the 2 years. Highlighting things we did together ect... A added little pictures to the document of when they were really little and printed it off on photo paper. Framed it and gave it to them. Mb cried. I also did a photo collage of me with each child. One with them together and then one of our favourite sayings "I love you a bushel and a peck" word picture I found on Pinterest.

MB here. These all sounds like lovely ideas.

Maybe you can also talk w/ the parents and see about staying in touch a bit via Skype?

I am their first nanny and I have a very personal relationship with the family. I wanted to get the kiddos goodbye gifts and do a fun activity on our last day.

I was thinking of getting both of them a copy of 'the places you'll go!' By dr. Seuss and writing them a little note and a few fun things they won't remember and their parents wouldn't know (things we did together, English words they say - parents are
Foreign born and speak their native language) and taking them to create a build-a-bear each.

Do you think this is a good idea? Do you have a better one? I would love to hear what you do on your final days with your charges

With one family I gave them a stack of envelopes self-addressed to me and stamped so that they could write to me whenever they wanted. With another we went to Picture People and took photos of them and me together sothey could look at a photo whenever they wanted.

Op here: I LOVE the stack of envelopes idea! I will do that as well
