I think a condolence card would be a lovely gesture. It is very sad when a family pet dies.

Aww...How tough this must be for them.

As an animal lover and pet owner myself, losing a pet is very painful and the grief is quite real.

Perhaps a hug from you when you return to work would be sufficient enough. A sympathy card would also be wonderful token of sympathy as well.

My MB texted me this afternoon to let me know their dog (of 15 yrs) passed away this morning. We all knew it was getting to be that time but its still sad Would it be odd to get them a pet condolences card? Their dog was pretty much their child for the 1st 10 years of their marriage as they dealt with fertility issues so I imagine they're grieving quite a bit.
