Hello all! This is for anyone who wishes to contribute; nannies, MBs, early childhood educators (if any happen to read this forum)...
I'm a nanny currently caring for a 3 year old and a 3 month old. MB will returning to work next week from her maternity leave. Although I've always incorporated educational activities into our days, it was always in a relaxed, go with the flow type of way. Now that the oldest is 3 (his birthday was during MB's maternity leave), MB and I have discussed and agreed to make his days a bit more scheduled with small lesson plans worked in daily. So far this is what I have planned on working on:
Alphabet (he already knows the ABC song and can recognize the majority of the letters, so we will just be "fine tuning" this)
Numbers
Shapes
Seasons
Time (using a basic clock to say when our activities will begin and end...)
Practice writing his name
He already knows all his colors
I plan on doing two 20-30min lesson plans a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. So plenty of of our day will still just be play time!
Does anyone have any other suggestions on what to work on with him? Good resources for ideas / lesson plans / printables/ books?
And for anyone who may be looking for similar information, I found this site to be a great resource:
