Packing boxes to crawl in/out of ( fold flaps inside both ends to make sturdier), art - finger painting is always fun, water play in the bathtub - add a bit of food coloring to change the water colors, oh another bath idea my charge LOVES is add some ice cubes to the bath and give cups /bowls to scoop the up in ( he squeals like crazy playing this), kitchen pots and pans band, sensory bins - lot of great things for this - rice, pompoms, dirt, sand, etc. I always hide smaller items in the bins- matchbox cars, plastic keys, etc.

We are expecting another heat wave in Southern California and I'll be unable to take my charge for her afternoon walks. My NF lives in an apartment and there is little room to play - we've only been playing in her small room (but I could use the rest of the common areas in her apartment). I went nuts last week when we had a similar heat wave and couldn't go outside in the afternoons or anytime after around 10 AM.

PLEASE is anyone - nanny or MB - has any suggestions on how to keep her occupied I would be so grateful. If I could afford it, I'd buy her a new toy for every day that we're stuck inside but I can't.
