You purchased a new care out of convenience for your charges? The family should have provided you one if you need to haul the charges around.

And when I bought the car and brought to to work for the first time, they met me outside. They opened the doors and let the kids crawl all over the seats and I nearly lost my mind.

What you just said is a big, fat blinking sign that screams "I'm with the wrong family."
I worked for a family once and mentioned to the DB that I was car shopping.
He told me that he would prefer I buy a small SUV, but a mini van would be ideal.
I quit very soon after. Not because of that directly but because there were many instances of things like that.

Same situation here, OP. My new car has been trashed by my nanny kids, despite no food/drinks and protective mats on the seats. I brought up many times to MB about my car and having them pay for 2 cleanings a month (I would pay the other 2) and was turned down. Not only for cleanings, but for gas money and activity reimbursement. I am so glad today is my last day here. I didn't quit over the car, but the car issue made quitting that much easier.

Radian car seats fit 3 across even in a small car. The parents should of figured this one out.

Of course they should be paying for it to be detailed a few times a year, I just can't believe you would base your decision of which car to buy on a temporary job and not have spoken to them about it first?! "MB, as you know my little Honda is on its last legs and I'm shopping for a replacement vehicle. However, the car I'd like to buy will not hold three car seats so I wanted to brainstorm with you on solutions." You just left it too late to expect much now, you know?

You can purchase mats to protect the backs of the front seats

I keep wipes in my car for wiping off sticky/dirty hands. Just have them take their shoes off when they get in your car.

They HAVE to know that she purchased the car with them in mind. She ensured that three car seats fit in the new car. That's a silly question.

And gas & mileage
Do they know you based the new car purchase with them in mind as far as size goes?

Purchase price but they should compensate
you for using your vehicle

I also would like to add that I had to buy a new car because my old car was quickly deteriorating due to a mechanical issue. The repair would have costed more than to actual car so it only made sense to trade in.

I have been employed by my NF for three years and have always used my vehicle. I had a ten year old vehicle that I recently traded in. I now have a brand new car. Purchasing the car was stressful in itself because I had to ensure that it fit three car seats. I was a little put off that my employers didn't offer to help a tiny bit with the purchase but quickly got over it because of my excitement. I've now had my car for a month and am disgusted at how quickly my car has been soiled. I do not allow the kids to eat or drink in it but their little feet seems to do a lot of damage. I'm now becoming increasingly upset that my new car will become destroyed if I don't keep up with regular cleaning/detailing. My question is, would it be out of line to ask for extra money to help cover this cost? And am I wrong for feeling as if my employers should have helped a little with the purchase? If I was buy a car just for me, I would have purchased a much smaller and less expensive vehicle. Thanks for your input.
