I am interested, do you have an email address?

If you email me at dcnanny_search@yahoo.com, I can talk more about this. I am in the process of hiring a great nanny to work with my kids 3 days/week, and she'd be interested in picking up two more days with another family. I'd love to hear more details.

Seems like it would be a good fit for someone who only watches kids three days a week or something.

Looking for feedback. Snark expected, serious replies deeply appreciated.

Funny.

You didn't say how many children in your ad.

OP, most people looking for a position would like an idea of how many children there are before applying for a position.

MB here. I haven't hired for this kind of position so I'm of limited help, but I wouldn't list it as a mother's helper. In my neighborhood the mother's helper label is used for young girls who are too young to babysit independently but are responsible, wanting to become babysitters, able to entertain a kid(s) to free up the parents while they're home, etc...

It sounds like you're looking for a housekeeper/babysitter - I think those terms might get you applicants who understand the nature of the cooking/cleaning/kid watching you're describing. Also, if you want to be able to leave the house and leave your kids in the person's care then mother's helper would be misleading (I think).

If you can be flexible about which days of the week (or varying the schedule sometimes) you might include that so someone with an unusual or changeable schedule (like a college student) can consider applying.

Try getting the word out on your neighborhood listserv. We found a fantastic backup sitter through a neighbor who has a live-in housekeeper/nanny with some pockets of free time.

Good luck.
