OP may or may not be a troll but I had a MB who was so angry when I told her I was leaving (and giving six weeks notice) to go back to school that she deemed me "disloyal" in an online review and was a real b*tch to me up right up to my last day. I'd been working for the family for over a year.

More like an ass than a troll.

Stop feeding the troll.

I am not one to call "troll" on every post but this one is very obvious. It sounds like somthing I would make up for shits and giggles.

This is insane. If you're going to troll, at least do a good job of it.

Troll because the right ways to quit a job/fire your nanny are always hotly debated topics here, and OP knew it would result in an emotional flame war. Everyone's got a story of how they've been burned. Her reaction is overly dramatic and emotional, to elicit emotional responses. She is a very obvious troll, or she really is just that stupid. Either way she wasn't asking for advice, so lets not feed the stupid troll.

Our nanny informed my husband and I, at 7AM this morning, that she has taken another job in an unrelated field and will be leaving our baby after only six months! She had tears in her eyes when she told us. She said the new job was a totally unexpected offer with money that is simply too good to pass up. She has given us two weeks notice but may be able to stay for three weeks to help us train the new nanny.

I was sad at first - I thought she was a good nanny - and now I'm furious. How can she say that she loves my son if she is going to leave him?! The baby loves her and has been really doing great with her - he gets all smiley and wriggly when she comes in every morning - and now she is just leaving him.

We had no contract with her although I doubt a contract would have made a difference. If she is telling the truth, the money of this new job is literally five times what she makes as a nanny.

Clearly, she never took her commitment with us seriously or she wouldn't be leaving after only six months. If I could fire her now I would!
