If she's happy with it, it's fine. If, however, she's looking for a better offer, it may not be so fine for you.

Nanny here and I think $15 per hour for 1 child is a perfectly acceptable rate. Only 1 week of vacation is a little low. Most families offer 2 weeks - 1 of her choosing and 1 of your choosing. But the unlimited sick/snow days is a great perk. If you plan on keeping her for more than a year I suggest a pay raise on her 1 year anniversary ($0.50-$1.00 per hour would be acceptable) and another week of vacation time.

It's on the low end of acceptable. Definitely consider a raise after she has been with you for a year. 1 week of vacation is low as well, that is unless you are guaranteeing her hours and your family takes at least a week of vacation in addition to hers.

In a close in DC suburb, I pay $15/hour for 32 hours a week. She gets a week's vacation and all Federal Holidays. Sick leave (and now snow days) are also unlimited of course. I give a decent cash bonus. We do not have a high total household income, but I find myself worrying that I should be paying her more. Kid is now about a year.
