I am in a lower COL area, but I have done similar work (driving a child to and from parental visits). For each one way trip (about 30 minutes total), I was paid $15 and for both pick-up and drop-off (two periods of 30 minutes), $25. For me, the extra money was definitely worth it, so I bet you can find someone with the extra time who wants to pick up a little extra, just offer pay that is reasonable for the time and effort.

Are there people who have worked as nannies and are working part-time who are also interested in performing pick-up and drop-off for children, to arrive at school at 9a and pick up at 3p? What is the going rate for this type of service? It would only be driving one mile for one child in the Tenleytown area.

If you do this kind of thing and only need someone to perform drop-off and pick-up, can you tell me how much you pay the person and how you found them?
