It happens. No just my boss forgot to pay me I also forgot about my money. We were just talking about the kids and we said buy buy and on my way home she called me and we both were laughing about it.

Payroll service here too! So easy and I know it will be there every Friday with no questions asked! It's nice to have that security plus guaranteed hours every week. I have been on the opposite side of getting a check every 2 week and having to remind the mom, annoying!!

If I were a nanny I would HATE having to track down my checks. If it's a set number of hours per week, w/ a long-term position, I would request direct, automated deposit. The employer authorizes payroll/payment weekly (or simply sets it up and doesn't have to do anything unless there is a change for that week) and then it's done.

I'm the PP and my employers did use a payroll service for the first year. They then attempted to set up direct deposit but would have had to pay a fee each pay period - I said that wasn't necessary and checks were fine. That's our reason, anyway, though I can't speak for everyone

Yes my bosses have forgotten to write my check once or twice...but so have I! However, when I texted later saying I was sorry but I'd forgotten to ask for my check my MB apologized profusely and said it was not my responsibility to remember, it was hers. That's a respectful employer right there.

Forgot, hell! You do not "forget" to pay your childcare giver. She probably doesn't have the money and you nex to start looking for a new job.

It's actually entirely possible. I forgot once but fortunately the nanny remembered when she had just left the house and called me so I told her to come back right away so I could pay her. I felt terrible but I honestly was just so tired I completely forgot it was Friday. Of course my reaction was different than OPs MB and it apologized immediately but I'm just pointing out that it absolutely is possible to forget.

Believe it or not, some people are just that absent minded or self centered. I knew a woman who's DH raked in over 4mil a year (working in finance). The nanny was practically following her around the house every Friday reminding her to write her damn check.

Is there any chance you're misunderstanding her email tone of voice? It's easy to do over email.

Its not your issue- its hers.

+1
She's probably one of those people who can never admit to being wrong.
