I do actually. She has been with us for three year since our first was born. I am saying that to preempt all the crappy remarks which are probably about to come that nanny would stay with me.
I would like to add that I also would not ever push a nanny to come on the weekend or help me out at night or whatever. But if she is out of her PTO and wants to not come in that's fine. She is not getting paid. The money goes to the back up sitters we have and I usually pay premium or snow days and arrange transportation since our nanny does not drive. So far our nanny bailed on us only once during a snow day and she was sick then

No, but I am a nanny and I would resent you for making me make up snow days. Let's just hope your nanny doesn't feel the same way.

While I can see your point, a nanny shouldn't have to "make up her work". She cannot control the weather. Some jobs have deadlines and others do not.

I find it interesting that so many MBs think nannies should cook, clean and run errands so they can "focus on the children" when they're off work but want the nanny to work on unexpected days off. Thought you wanted to spend time with your kids?

Infuriating that over in the main forum people are talking about how terrible the roads are. Many near me aren't properly plowed. But they expect nanny to be there on time!
I'm curious what said bosses would do if nanny did come, I doubt they'd be working.

I asked my nanny to come in around 10 which means i had to push out my calls, etc. But I think that's reasoable. You can't expect someone to get there at the crack of dawn. and she lives pretty close.
