If they had four interviews lined up for this week they are STILL going to go through all of them before making a choice, even if OP/the first candidate was their dream nanny (especially if they're first-time parents).

OP, if you haven't heard anything by Friday follow up with an e-mail but keep it low-pressure...Christmas is next week, after all, and folks are busy right now. If they desperately want to hire you, you don't want to turn them off by being too pushy.

Every job I've had that was a great fit and lasted was offered to me within the first 24 hrs. Either you KNOW it's a good match or you don't. You don't want to be anyone's second or third choice. If they haven't contacted you by now, they probably aren't going to.

I would hardly call less than a week "chasing them down". Actually, if the parents called by Saturday, I'd still consider that "soon thereafter".

You're that's not that long, but OP has already contacted them once. I think that's enough. They know you're interested and if they want you they'll let you know.

Wait until Friday. They could still be interviewing or you could have been their last person to interview. Either way, I'd give it a full business week.

I'd wait until Friday and if you haven't heard from them by then, then I would reach out.

I had an interview on Sunday, sent follow up email Monday thanking them for the interview.

Do I contact them to see if they made a decision? If so when would be acceptable? They didn't interview anyone else and made it sound like they had no plans to do so
