If you've seen her looking at it, then its not so bad. My gift last year was something that I would only use in the care of their children, and it was really lame, but I was raised better than to outwardly reject a gift someone gives me. Your nanny may not complain to your face, but that doesn't mean she likes it.
PP, I think it's probably safe to assume that she left it open on the computer as a hint for MB to buy it for her.

Nah, the rubbish. I take care of 2 little girls and would actually like this for a gift. I'm going to go ahead and get it for one of my best friends who also nannies.

Of course she won't complain, because I'm assuming she has AT LEAST the bare minimum of manners...
Doesn't make it an appropriate or thoughtful gift, though.

MB here. I am getting it for my nanny (she's 26 and just started working for us) for Christmas. That plus a Target gift card and a framed photo of the kids. Also as a side note, I'm a dietitian and I know that the professional publications I subscribe to sell single-article downloads for more than the entire price of this subscription. I wouldn't worry about the price too much if you compare it with professional publications instead of regular magazines like what you would see at Safeway.

I think it's expensive but who knows, it may be worth it. I've been following them on Facebook and some of their website articles are good and other ones I could care less about. Maybe I will buy the online subscription. It's only $21 and if it turns out to not to be worth it I can cancel it.

They should know better, and the fact that they don't tells me they're too dumb to be producing anything of worth anyway. An online magazine that is popular and successful MIGHT be able to transition into a paid, print form, but you have to prove your worth first. In a world where publishing houses are closing and major newspapers are on the brink of collapse, it is absurd to think you can charge people for a magazine when they don't even know if it's worth it!

Hi. I was wondering if anyone has subscribed yet to Nanny Magazine. I was going to but then I saw that it costs $39 for the print version. That's kind of a lot of money for a magazine so I was wondering if anyone else was getting it and has seen an issue yet. Is it worth the money? I definitely don't want the online version because I don't have Ipad yet so the cheaper online one isn't for me.
