OP here, I did get the other DC a gift and I'm glad I did. Nanny seemed genuinely surprised but appreciative.

Give a gift when in doubt you should always give instead of not. My rule of thumb

I don't think you're obligated to do anything. Your nanny buys gifts for your kids because she has a relationship with them. I highly doubt her older DC is expecting a gift from you.

So just a little background, we have a great nanny who has been with us for only about 4 months. 1 month after she started it was my DC1's birthday and she brought a gift for both my DCs (1 for each) and will occasionally bring other things for them just so (little things like stickers but still things she doesn't have to do).

The nanny has 2 DCs as well. I've never met her children but her DC2 often plays with my DC2. Her DC2's birthday was last week and I got a gift since they play together a lot. Her DC1 is almost 10 years old than my DC and I think they only met once. Now her DC1's birthday is coming up and I'm not sure if I should get a gift or not. I don't want anyone to feel left out or wonder why I got a gift for one and not the other but I also don't want anyone to feel weird that I'm giving gifts.

I'm sorry if this is confusing, what do you think I should do?
