I'm sure your bosses will offer to replace/reimburse you for the accidentally eaten meals. And if they don't take the initiative to do so, just remind them mid-week.

As an aside, the damn dog just finished off my breakfast. Ugh. I won't be getting reimbursed for that. Stupid dog.

I find it incredible that they ate 8 Lean Cuisines over a single weekend. How odd.

Of course they should apologize and replace or reimburse.

I'm wondering about the PPs that say they would be annoyed their nanny has taken over half the freezer. From what I read she isn't allowed to eat their food so I'm sure they would have to provide space for her to keep something in the fridge. And since nannies work long hours in general, with no specific lunch break and no one to take over from her if she needed to go out, I would expect some space in the freezer to stock up for just a few days. But to the OP I'm sure it was a mistake and hopefully they would replace or reimburse the food for ya!

Well actually my families eat healthy so maybe they will. But the point is it is much cheaper and healthier to cook from scratch, store it in your home fridge, and the scoop some into a bowl at night, grab it on your wait out the door in the morning and voila, no stolen lunches.

Sorry that happened to you though. I've definitely BTDT with past families so I learned better.

This post is just dribble. Completely irrelevant.

You realize some families have more than one freezer, right? And some nannies eat 8+ meals/week at work? A much nicer way to make your point would have been, "On a related point, how much space do your LCs take up in their freezer? I could see myself getting annoyed if I had to keep half the freezer blocked off for my nanny all the time. It doesn't excuse eating your food (which he should apologize for eating and either replace or reimburse), but it does sound like they're normally very accommodating so I wouldn't waste any time being outraged. We all do stupid stuff like that sometimes."

That's very off topic and a stupid point.

If she doesn't reinburse you than eat her food and if she questions you say "oops, my mistake!" and leave it at that. Lol.

What would have been easiest is for DB to buy his kids their own food so that their nanny, who may not be able to leave nor should she have to, in order to buy lunch would have the food available that she was counting on. This would annoy the shit out of me, OP, and I would make it clear that it was not Ok. I doubt if you drank the last of the milk or ate the last of their bread (of course you would have to be "allowed" to) anyone would say it was ok as long as you eventually replaced it. Your name was on the bag, they were separate from the rest of their food. It wasn't an accident.

You need to let them know "The total for all my lunches is $24, please reimburse me by the end of the week."

OP, in the future, only bring food for the day now that you know you can't trust them.

Sounds like it wasn't intentional or malicious. Just remind them that you need to be reimbursed. Of course the decent thing would be for them to go get it from the store for you but that's probably not going to happen.

DB ate all of my fancy soups once over a long weekend and he replaced them all the following week. I'm sure your boss will too, but if no one has mentioned doing so by Wed you should ask your MB if it would be easiest if you bought the replacements and brought her the receipt to save them a trip to the store/make sure you get the flavors you like.

I stockpiled the freezer with Lean Cuisines I eat during my nanny work week. I am not allowed to eat NF food, and I'm ok with that. However, I came in today and all of my microwave meals were gone. I had 8, and they are all gone. I questioned MB, she said she had no clue. Then she texted and said DB at them, and gave some to the kids on during the weekend because MB was out of town. She apologized. I kind of expect to get paid back.... If it was one I wouldn't care, but that's like over $25. I had them in a plastic bag, and my initials on all of them. I know it was a mistake, or at least I hope it was.
