Of course she babysat for them! That way she can come back to complain and play victim.

OP here- Actually no I didn't and there is NO need to be rude. I told them that I made plans that can't be changed. MB asked if I could change my plans and I said no. I work Tuesdays thru Fridays so I haven't seem them face to face.

Good for you!!!
I've learned over the years that I am a person too and I can have a life. Yes I'm flexible with my nanny family. But Once I make plans outside of work I stick to it.
I'm part of a nanny Meetup in my area and its just so horrible howmany nannies on dinners or outings last minute cancel because their bosses didn't plan ahead or changed plans.

I sincerely hope MB wasn't rude to you today about not changing your plans. In fact, I hope she wasn't anything less than extremely apologetic. However, sounds like she's thoughtless and rude. You can find a better family

So how'd things go for you today?

I hope your MB had enough time to reflect on her behavior and see how rude it was.

Wow OP, that is truly shameless in my book. What nerve!! I would be mortified if I were your boss.

I completely understand your need to vent about this.

Your boss is clueless and just keep this in mind.
You just may need this info in the future.

+1

I mean, it is CRAZY rude to take back the tickets, and I would absolutely say, "That's disappointing, Nancy, but I'll return the tickets tomorrow. Unfortunately I made plans for dinner beforehand with a friend so I won't be able to babysit that night. Enjoy the play, though!"

Extremely rude. I could never do that to someone

HUUUUUGE red flag! I would start looking for a new family immediately.

That is awful! Perhaps when you see them, they will apologize profusely and try to make up for it in a way? This would really sour my relationship with someone.

No, that's fucked up. Even a 4 year old knows if you give someone something there's no backsies.

Wow. HUGE red flag, OP. I can't even imagine doing anything like that.

Just venting here...I was originally supposed to baby sit tonight for my NF, no problem! But then they decided this week they didn't want to go to the play they had tickets for and offered them to me, I accepted and was excited about it. Today MB text me and says they changed their minds and decided to go and told me what time they needed me to come in. I have never had any issues with them before and love working for them, so right now I'm just baffled at their behavior, does she not realize how rude that is? I had made dinner plans with my friend before hand and was excited for the play. I don't get it. Vent over.
