OP, I'm an MB who would never ever do this and I think it's incredibly disrespectful as well as just plain odd, but you really need to speak up. I wouldn't recommend asking if they'd like to move your time later - obviously, they don't want to. I would let them know politely that you have commitments after your end time and you need them to be home by then. I guess if they still don't come home on time, since you're leaving anyway, there's not a whole lot you can do. But don't let people take advantage of you like this in the future.

OP, sounds like you let this go on for far too long, but now you're leaving anyway so in the big picture it won't matter that much.

Should you ever choose to return to nannying you'll know how to manage this kind of thing better from the beginning.

Ask if they want to alter your schedule. Say I've noticed you've been needing me to stay late! I don't mind at all bit I was just wondering if you wanted to alter our working agreement at all to make up for that time. That gives us all a better idea of timing.
My boss was 5 mins late or more EVERY DAY with out fail(DB). Our contract says I get paid for anytime over our 15 min grace period. It goes both ways. ( however I was asked to start coming 15 mins early everyday but my grace period extends to 8:15)
I asked if they want to alter my schedule. Mb said no. We'll vet since then I have been off on time or if the occasional insadent happens I am contacted right away

Thanks! I start and AMAZING grad program in January so I am for sure done with nannying (I suppose I shouldn't be so happy). It may be that my looming end date is making all of the little things all the more difficult to deal with.

Add up the minutes and present them with your OT. They are jerks but you are letting them do this by not saying anything. Traffic is no excuse as they should allow for this when leaving from work.

Lots of nannies don't do a great job with enforcing good professional boundaries.

Ok...so there's no point in making waves if the job works for you and you're almost done, but I am curious: why didn't you ever charge them for the late arrivals? You must have worked a good couple of hours a week unpaid.

This is mostly a rant/I'm sure there are nannies out there who can commiserate (I am not quitting, before anyone gives me that gem of advice, as this is my last nanny job EVER and I will be done in three months!). So here goes. MB/DB are literally late almost every single day. Sometimes it's only by 5 minutes, some days they walk in right at my end time, and some days-more and more frequently lately-they are 15-20 minutes late because of "traffic". They always apologize and on the latest days, they text to let me know, but it is just grating on my nerves more and more as time goes on. On top of it, I am never paid for the late nights and at least twice a month, MB asks me to stay anywhere from 30-90 minutes late because she has meetings. I love the kids and the job affords me a decent bit of autonomy but were I not done in three months, I would be hard pressed to continue going back. I am at the point where I am about to start sitting at the door with my shoes/coat/bag on waiting on the days they are late. Anyone else in a similar situation? Because it just really sucks.
