I think it was State Farm but we have since switched and I do not remember.

OP here. Yes I called. My insurance company is Liberty Mutual. They said I could add business coverage for no additional cost which is just awesome. Can't wait to tell the mom! I did read something online saying the family may want to add nanny to their policy even though I won't be driving their cars. I will probably tell her to contact her agent and see what they tell her. Thanks to everyone who replied!

Your insurance will not cover the accident unless you have business use coverage. Also, your insurance will not cover costs in excess of your coverage limits since your employer is liable due to your use of the vehicle in your work.

Okay so here's the deal. I've always used my car to drive the kids in all my nanny positions. Never had any issues or problems thankfully. I have car insurance.

Today I had an interview and the mom wanted to know how the liability would work if I got in an accident while using my car for work and driving the kids. I assume my insurance would pay for it. But she wants to know if she would be liable for repairs and what if the kids get hurt? I told her I'd have to check with my insurance. Thought I'd check in here first because I'm sure other nannies have had this question.
