Some nannies make $17+ in this area, but many nannies also make $15/hr for one child. There is no need to accuse anyone of spouting misinformation, 15:00, as you are only in the position to report your own rate, not the market average, especially since you don't know the market average.

Regardles of the OP's query, your statement is the false one. Experienced quality nannies make between $17 and $20 an hour in this area- I know because I've been a nanny here for over 15 years. OP - I know MANY nannies and none of them are paid over $15/hour. Only on DCUM you will see anonymous users inflating rates, trying to tell you that you should be getting $20/hour. It's false. If it was that easy than i'm sure many would quit their jobs and go into nannying. Only a small percentage of nannies (usually with ECE background, CPR/First Aid, college educated, experience, refs, etc) make $20/hr.
To answer your question, yes, it seems like a fair rate.

Thinking of taking a job looking after 2 girls ages 10&12. At first she said only needed 3 days then she was like you know what you sound great do you want to do this full time? So it's 6-8 in mornings and 3-8 in evenings for 12 an hour. They go out on date night once a week after 8 I get paid 10 an hour. They go away once a month if they can and they paid their last sitter 600 bucks from Thursday- Sunday night. It comes to about 300 dollars a week just for 3-8 everyday. Don't want them to do the math and say its too much. What do you think?
