Since you didn't make that huge purchase, I am sure the credit card company will get to the bottom of it and sooner or later your family will find out it was all a fraud.

However, the damage has been done already.

This incident has shown you that your bosses do not trust you at all. If they did, they would have not asked you in such an accusing manner, etc. Even if they apologize (which I am sure they will), I could not work for people who painted me in such a bad light. For them to think of me as a liar is beyond disrespectful.

I say give them notice and move on.

I wouldn't be so outraged. If it was only one large purchase, this is out of the ordinary for this type of theft. Thieves will usually go to more than one store.

MB just called and let me know that her card was compromised as well. Since I'm an added user on their primary account, all three of our numbers must have been swiped. DB did not apologize. Shrug. C'est la vie. Thanks for letting me vent.

It sounds like they asked you separately? Maybe DB is a jerk and thought his wife hadn't pressed hard enough and needed to hear it for himself. Some husbands are like that... but yeah, that was a disrespectful thing for him to say.

Whatever, either way if you didn't use it, you didn't use it. They're bound to find that out as they pursue it with the CC company and then they will apologize. Suck it up and be a professional, they had to at least ASK you.

I have a credit card in my name, supplied by my nanny family. I use it for outings, grocery shopping, and miscellaneous expenses that pop up when I'm out with the kids. I am scrupulously cautious about making sure that if we're eating out and I want something a little fancier than burger and fries, I pay for my own food. If I pick up a few groceries while I'm grocery shopping for the family, I run it as two transactions. If I need a pack of gum, I pay for it myself.

My MB called and asked if I had placed a (very large) order from a clothing company on my work card. I certainly did not. Thirty minutes later, DB called and asked the same thing. I told him absolutely not. He pressed me on it some more, and said that I should come clean because they would get to the bottom of this.

I am outraged. I understand how upsetting it is to have credit card information compromised, but I have been with them for two years and have never so much as taken a soda without asking.
