Only in this country would someone be so entitled as to think that a single terrorist attack warrants a national day of mourning or something. Terrorism is a constant reality in many parts of the world.

I live in NYC, and nothing closes. For me, I choose to overcome terrorism by living life, so I don't desire to take off work. On that horrible day, all New Yorkers became like family at least for the day.

My current charge is too young to understand this day. But for children who are old enough to understand, it's the parents' place to introduce it to them. Unless the child asked questions about it, I probably would not bring it up.

Does anyone have this day off? I feel that this should be a government holiday and everybody should close shop like Christmas and spend time with family remembering 9/11.
