I am confused as well. The nanny needs a "six hour break?" Huh?! That would be nice......

Anyway, I currently watch a 12 mos. old and he just now is starting to skip his second nap. He only takes one nap a day now for about 2.5 hours.

This isn't that unusual to me.

If it was a typo, what do you think she meant to say?

The baby probably needs the two naps still. And, if you do stick with just one - 90 minutes isn't long enough.

I would go back to two naps for at least a few more months.

No "nanny" needs a six hour break.

What? I, frankly, am assuming OP's 6 is a typo - I don't think she mean she needs (or gets) a 6 hour break. And I didn't reference the break at all.

I think a one year should still be taking two naps. And a toddler who is down to 1 nap a day should have a 2 hour nap. I don't think this kid is getting enough sleep.

I said nothing about break time.

2nd day in a row bug played/whined/cried a bit during his afternoon 90 min nap... there was once again absolutely no sleeping. How they go from Two 3 hr naps everyday for the last 2 weeks to this I shall never know, but tomorrow we start the slow transition to 1 nap a day, I'm hoping he'll just shorten his morning if we put him down earlier and we can hold on to those to naps for a wee bit longer. He's only 12 months!! my last charge was on 2 naps until he was just over 2 years old At least for the most part he stays pretty content in his crib for the whole 90 mins we attempt and when nap is "over" he just smiles and plays in the crib while we do the whole wake up routine. Even if he doesn't sleep I know he's getting more rest than he would have if we just let him play. I know he needs the rest and I really need that 6 hour break to catch my breath. Any advice to get him back to his usual routine?
