I love that OP wants to be with her baby more. As a nanny, I go out of my way to do anything i can to help moms like you. Hugs!

Op, it can get tough, hopefully you have at least 2 months salary saved at a minimum. I'm doing something like this right now but that is only because i have to. Nanny jobs are scarce in my area and I'm willing to travel 45 miles but most have family to help and a lot of jobs are for before/after school right now. I'm working any baby sitting, back up, short notice, any and everything just so i don't have to use all of my savings

ITA - another SAHM who wants to make a little extra money is the perfect fit for your job.

Make friends with a fulltime Mom who would love to help you out like this. Maybe you could even help her out to. I love your thinking on this, OP. Best wishes.

Hi,
I'm contemplating leaving my full time job to work free lance in order to spend more time with baby. Has anyone made a permanent deal with a sitter or part time nanny that could work as needed on a short notice? I might have a week or two off and then have a project for a week or two. Would you go with a nanny or a baby sitter and are there people/services like this available in DC?

Thanks in advance.
