OP, your writing gives you away. Better luck next time.

Wait so if a person is a nanny they "write"'a certain way.
What if that person was a nanny; than had a baby and hired a nanny?

Does the writing change the instant the child pops out or once the person hires a nanny.

Obviously there is a proven study on this that really bored nannies who hang out on this site way too much have done. Maybe in your spare time?

OP, I'll help you out:
cups, plates, spoons, forks, knives, etc? Those are in her kitchen. Extra toilet paper? In the bathroom and/or in a closet. Her clothes? In her closet. Her bed? In her bedroom, unless she has one of those weird set-ups where she and her roommates turned the dining room into a bedroom to lower rent.

You are rude and condescending. Her writing style gives her away?? That is to say what? Someone who can afford a nanny must write perfectly? Or are you insinuating that she must be a nanny because you think her uneducated?

Listen, when you've been reading this board as long as some of us have you begin to recognize certain writing styles, phrasing, unusual word choices, odd punctuation, and specific formatting that identifies some of our more prolific posters (*coughtrollscough*). This is neither rude nor condescending; I am tired of these people using up space and wasting my time reading their crap. Why not just post the question as a theoretical rather than try to convince people it's actually happening? I've done that and got great responses without any vitriol because it was just a discussion and everyone knew that no one's actual job/children were at risk.

I'm a nanny and I don't think it's weird. My parents have all been to my place, but it was a little nerve racking at first to have them come over. But I think it's a natural curiosity.

Nice that you care.

Op here
Not sure why someone may think I'm not a parent who also has a nanny. Is there some special greeting or handshake I missed?

I know it's a bit odd. My nanny knows personal things about my home that family or good friends know. Where extra toilet paper is, how we put our cups away, just certain things. But I know nothing about her homelife outside of what she lets me know. If I was to go to her home I'd feel like such a stranger.

My husband thinks I'm nuts for thinking it, but that's why he loves me and my quirky ways

Calm down ladies. I think OP is totally justified in being curious. I've been on the other side myself, wondering if my employers think about my life outside of work. It's nice to know that some people actually do!

It is odd so it is a good thing this is an anonymous forum. LOL.

Anyway, who really cares what her house looks like really? Would that impact her work at all?

If it really bothers you, then by all means, stop by for tea one afternoon.

Just don't be surprised if she becomes your ex nanny after that.

I don't know if other MBs wonder about the home life of their nannies, but I will say that my MBs have been to my home a few times dropping things off and such. They also attended my house warming and baby shower parties, but we have a very laid back and friendly relationship.

Since our nanny started a few months back I've been thinking about this -

What my nannys living is like.
I know that seems odd. She knows how my home is, how it's decorated. I'm sure by know she's figured out quirky things (sticking doors, etc).
I have never seen my nannys home. I know where she lives as we have the address, but I'm not going to drive over there to be stalkerish.

Do other MBs wonder this too? Ok maybe I'm odd (fine I know I am but hopefully in a good way)
