Unless these are divorced families - give your notice to the dads. duh. Perhaps then follow up with email to the moms to "put it in writing". My DH would be dumbfounded if nanny put off something like this simply becasue he was the one meeting her and not me. And the DHs can't be totally unengaged if they are the ones at the AM/PM meet-ups with you.

Its not ideal but I would send email and then say you available to talk via phone. You can apologize for not be able to tell them in person but let them know you wanted to give them as much notice as possible and refer to how you know its difficult with their schedules to find a time when the 3 of you can be face to face.

I have accepted a job offer and am planning to quit my nanny share position tomorrow.
The mothers are my "bosses" and the ones I would give notice to. The only problem is that I never see them.
Both mothers are gone when I arrive and get home after I am gone.
I don't want to send an email asking to set up a time to talk because they would obviously know what was going on, but also it would take days and days to set it up. As I am under time constraints and have to give notice very soon (by Wednesday at the very latest), that wouldn't work.
Is it appropriate to give notice via phone?
