I would also put your recommendation on old town moms and MOMs of Arlington. I recently helped our nanny find a new position b/c our kids are in school full time and I wrote a glowing recommendation and included my email so people could email me directly w/ any questions. It was a time consuming process, but she ended up w/ a great family.

Message your neighborhood listserv and ask/tell any and all of your friends about her availability - word of mouth can be a great way to switch positions, and there will always be someone in your extended network who's looking for a nanny!

We are unexpectedly saying goodbye to a wonderful nanny (due to a surprise last-minute preschool opening) and I want to do everything that I can to help her find a new family. I'm looking for suggestions of ways to spread the word or otherwise help her. I've posted on the appropriate DCUM nanny search forums and on DC MetroMommies, I've added a review to her Care.com profile, and a friend is posting on Moms on the Hill (she's looking in DC and NoVA) -- and of course I'll be responsive to reference checks. Anything else that I can do that I'm overlooking?
