Good grief can't you people read? OP had arranged to leave early and her bosses told her this morning that she couldn't even though she had confirmed it with them earlier this week.

They weren't already late, they had told me in the morning that they wouldn't be able to come home at the time we had agreed upon.

We worked it out. I kindly told them that I had made plans based on them telling me they could be home. To answer your questions, I asked in person and emailed the date and they confirmed with me a week ago and on Monday. I'm glad that I said something though, and that they decided to stick to their initial word.

OP, when were they supposed to be home? Honestly, at 15 min late I would have been calling or texting one of them to see when they'd be home.

But yeah, start looking for another job. These people clearly do not respect your time

We keep an electronic calendar with our nanny (google) so that everyone can be sure we're all on the same page. When the kids have soccer or a lesson, it's on the calendar. If she has a day off, same thing. Would this work for you?

When you reminded them this morning, did they agree to coming home early?

Or was it a situation where you told them a couple of weeks ago and didn't bring it up again until today?

I can't even remember my own schedule for two weeks without a calendar. There's no way I'd expect my employers to do so. Next time, have the discussion, put it in writing (email them) and discuss it again a few days in advance.

Find another job because these people have zero respect gor you. I would tell them that they need to find a babysitter because you cannot change your plans. Stop being a doormat.

Yes you should say something. That is pretty rotten behavior on their part. If I did this to my nanny (assuming she'd previously cleared it w/ us, reconfirmed, and we said it was fine) I'd expect her to start looking for a new job.

Please say something at the very least. Were I in your shoes, I would be telling my bosses that they needed to figure something out and that I absolutely could not stay.

A few weeks ago I asked if it was possible for MB or DB to come home a little early today because there is an event I was invited to. They assured me it would be fine and confirmed the date with me last week. I reminded them this morning to find out they won't be able to come home as agreed upon. I would have never RSVPed for the event had I not initially cleared it with them. Now I'll be extremely late. (I was going to be a little late anyway as I didn't want to interfere with their schedule too much.) Would you say anything if you were in my situation?
