It depends on who you're hiring, but the fact that you're there (or not) is pretty much irrelevant - whoever you choose still has to be there, on call, and not in their own bed guaranteed to be sleeping through the night.

I'd suspect you could find someone trustworthy who'd be willing to do this for $50/night plus the hourly rate for any wakings (rounded up to the nearest hour, even if your son is only up for 10 minutes).

How much should I pay a sitter just to spend the night? I have seen similar posts about overnight care, but this would be while I am at home as well. My husband travels alot, I am very pregnant and my son has epilepsy, so it would be reassuring to have someone in the house just in case I need extra help.

If there was a need to wake up at night or help, naturally I would add hourly rate $17 an hour to base pay provided.
