Nothing wrong with this post. I go to turtle park a lot in the evenings and will be on the lookout for the little girl and her parents or the nanny.

"getting caught" doing what? not being a helicopter?

A good nanny should know the difference between being a helicopter and paying attention so a child doesn't get hurt. A toddler should never be climbing up high without an adult nearby to supervise. That's not being a helicopter, that's common sense.

Serious question - how do you get a good sense for a nanny's true character in the interview process? She might act loving and attentive while you're around and then behave like the person OP has described when you're not around. What are some things to look out for?

OP ignore all the PPs. There are a lot of nannies on here who automatically bash any post like this because they are afraid of getting caught themselves. Any good nannies and MBs appreciate these posts. Thanks.

I can appreciate your concern about the little girl, but what the size of the nanny have to do with anything?

Was hoping to avoid that with describing the little girl. Not fat bashing - I'm a 14! African American nanny. I would like any parent that thinks it might be his/her child to contact me so he/she can follow up. Thanks for helping me to improve on the description front.

OP didn't even see this firsthand. Her nanny reported it to her and supposedly said that she was bigger than OP (who is a 14).

I feel like you're trying to fat bash. Otherwise, why not post something a LITTLE more helpful about the nanny.

hair color/length/texture? height? skin color? clothing? Speaking English or another language?

Oh no! Not a child playing on their own! Get real, you know nothing about the girl's capabilities or play style. How sad that independent play is now considered neglect.
This might blow your mind as well, but, you can actually watch out for a child and carry on an adult conversation at the same time, try it sometime.

This morning a little blonde girl wearing a white top and blue pants was in turtle park basically unsupervised. Her nanny (about a size 16) was sat far away talking to another nanny and ignoring the girl. Other people noticed and watched out for the toddler (b/t 2 & 3 yrs old?) who was climbing really high. If others had not been watching this girl could have been injured. Please pass this message along or mention this to anyone that may have had a child there this morning. Thanks.
