Start in early-mid January. Plenty of nannies will be looking for new jobs after the holidays so it's a prime time to be running interviews. That should be a good gap in terms of starting dates, too, but if you find your dream nanny and she needs to start a week earlier than you'd planned, it's also close enough that you might find that feasible.

I think atleast 2 months but no longer then 3 or 4 because many might not wait around much longer then that.

This includes initial online conversations, interviews, trail dates, etc. So longer then a month, imo.

A month in advance is more than enough time to fully vet potential candidates. At that point, you will hopefully be talking to nannies who are leaving long term positions and are setting up things in advance, or nannies who are respectful of their current positions to give ample notice when leaving. Good luck!

Another family and ours are hoping to start a nanny share in early February. We are both due around the same time and heding back to work around the same time.

When is a good time to begin looking for a nanny? We are worried if we start too early, they'll take another job...and too late, we won't find anyone.

any advice would be helpful! thanks so much!
