I'm really confused as to how this is a jab? At worst, it sounds like you haven't done all the chores you are responsible for, and your MB, instead of telling you to get up and do them, is asking if you are okay ...

Are you sure you are not being oversensitive? Perhaps she was asking if anything was wrong because she noticed you were a bit tired and you are interpreting it as a jab.

tell her it's becoming too much and since it was not in your agreed upon terms, you are no longer going to do it. simple as that.

I hate when DB drops by and the living room is a mess and he complains. I just want to say "it gets like this every day.... you have twin toddlers. The living room is always in great condition by the time you get home and I leave."

Either way, who cares, as long as it gets done eventually, does it really matter if it is not done the minute MB wants it? When people are passive-aggressive with me I always nip it in the bud. So my response would have been something like, "You're right, I am dragging a bit today. But I'll get the laundry put away by the end of the day regardless."
