I'm not sure the best way to submit my notice... I've been prepaid for the month... Is that her loss or mine? Do I need to pay her back? How does this work with my vacation hours? I had them booked and my vacation is planned so I'm mt able to get out of it. Do I just go back for the 2 days next week? Or pay her back?
I'm still thinking the best way to do this...

if you are paid through the end of the month you need to work through the end of the month or return MB the money for the time you are not working

Are you a live-in nanny? Sounds kind of like an old MB of mine.

I would definitely tell her you aren't availableafter this week op. With the kind of mb you describ ed I'm sure she'd make your next few weeks hell. Dont give her the chance! Congrats on your new position!

I'm wondering if I just say that I'm not available after next week?

Here the kicker.. I'm paid up front for the month... So she pays me my full rate on the first of the month. But I would only work 2 more days for her this
Month then the last week would only be 1 day as September 1st is a holiday that I have off with pay...

I am in a similar situation. I need to leave my job pretty much a week after they are scheduled to take vacation. Giving the required notice most likely means that they will replace me right after they get back and I will be out my vacation pay. I would feel terrible, essentially, giving them a weeks notice, but I also really can't afford not to be paid for the two weeks they are taking (and I have earned as well)...tricky stuff.

Yes. But if you can do 3 weeks then do 3.

2 month notice is not standard. Of course everyone would love a long notice but situations happen. Don't feel guilty. 2-3 weeks IS standard.

Dear MB, I am writing this to give you formal notice that I will be moving on to a more lucrative position. The last date I am available to work for you is [date two weeks from date of letter]. It has been a pleasure working with you and spending time with Larla. I will expect my final check for all hours worked through [last date worked] on [last date of work]. Thank you.

If she tries to guilt you or ask why, just keep repeating that you found a position that better suits you. Repeat after me: No I'm sorry, that won't work. Say that repeatedly when she asks for more.

2 months is a ridiculous amount of required notice. Give her the 2-3 weeks and expect to be dropped immediately. Sounds like you may be better off.

Quit. Move on. Congratulations. Too bad they didn't respect you a little more.

I have to quit my 2 day a week job!
I've never quit a job before and I really am nervous!!
I've been there for 7 months and really have not felt a connection with the kids. I actually dread it! I obviously don't want to say that in the letter!
Reason I'm quitting... I'm not happy... Plus I've been offered a job for $7 more an hour! I really want this new job but it starts sooner than my 2 month notice I agreed to give. I literally have 2-3 weeks I can give. Plus I'm taking holidays next week!

Mom is manipulative and tries to guilt me. But I'm still nervous that I can't give 2 months as I agreed too! I need advice!!

(On a side note! Nannies go with your gut!! I wasnt in love with the job even tho its everything I wanted. I didn't feel the connection! )
