She was a little, but luckily wasn't there too long before her LCC stepped in.

Kudos to that LCC. What an awful situation for the au pair.

She was a little, but luckily wasn't there too long before her LCC stepped in.

We got an AP in rematch who was removed by the agency from an alcoholic's home. They can't screen for that. CC also asks for a work and personal reference.

It does. Cultural Care now requires a "background check," APIA does not. Both agencies have a sit-down interview with the host family in their home where they spend about an hour talking about the program, rules, expectations, etc and look at the au pair's room. But what is it that you want to know about a host family? I bet a lot of what you want to know won't be revealed with a background check.
