Agree with 12:54 re cleaning up and food. Hosting is so worth it tho.

Hosting saves a lot of time, but you're right there will be more wear and tear on your house in general. However, the nanny should be handling cleaning up after both kids, (if she can't manage that you haven't hired a capable nanny) so don't worry about coming home to a disaster every night.

Other family should send food with their child to eat, you aren't expected to feed them.

I am joining a nanny share this coming fall, and the other family lives on the other side of town, we have discussed potentially sharing the hosting duties, but the other mom is totally fine if I choose to host the entire time. I feel there are definitely pros and cons to this. Pros - convenient, maximizing time, possibly getting some of the kid's laundry done. Cons - 2 young children in the house to clean up after. How are snacks/meals etc handled?? I would love to hear thoughts on hosting.. thanks!
