I'm not sure how to tactfully bring it up, but guaranteed hours are incredibly important in a share for everyone involved. The nanny should be able to expect her full rate even if one child is absent for one reason or another, and the present family shouldn't have to pick up the slack. I had a share in the past where one family was often absent for whatever reason and the mom just could not understand why she should have to pay. She was wonderful in most other ways, but it was a constant awkward conversation in which she would try to get out of paying or to bank her hours some way.
