Glad you found someone OP. Are you paying the college student on the books? For such PT hours, I'm curious if you have to take taxes out, etc.

OP here - fyi I am hiring someone for $13/hr... college student who has a schedule that works. I had several caregivers willing to accept anywhere between $12 - $15/hr.

$13-$15 per hour. Look for someone who wants part time work as opposed to someone who would prefer full time work and needs to cobble together multiple jobs to get it. Depending on the schedule, you might have good luck with a graduate student.

That's a failure on the nanny's part (not doing the laundry and dishes)

I'm saying this as someone who empties the dishwasher every single day. Laundry is something that is less "required" and more "when I have time," but if it was required I'd schedule my time to make sure I could finish.

Why not do a steady three days every week? You can use the extra day for errands.

Good luck OP, I have a 13 mo and need someone 3 days one week and 2 days the next week, It rotates every 2 weeks. No one wants a PT schedule like this.

Not the best attitude to have, I must say. Why do you assume the laundry won't get done?
It isn't the point, but I'm curious how you'll only need someone for 20 hours per week to watch a toddler. Are you a SAHM? Work part time?

If the people you're interviewing refuse to do any work outside of childcare, your price is too low and/or you're interviewing the wrong people.

My oldest is starting Kindergarten in the fall, and I'm searching for a part time nanny to care for my toddler. I'm not sure what to charge for one child for roughly 20 hours/week. I'm hesitant to address this as a "nanny" as I'm yet to find someone on a part-time basis to do anything aside of basic care for my children. Which is fine, taking good care of my children is the highest priority. But I refuse to pay a premium for simple household duties and children's laundry that never gets done. Any help is much appreciated!
