People really say, "Why are are you around 2 white kids when you're AA"??? [paraphrased from your OP which didn't make sense, but I assumed you meant what I wrote or some version of it]
I doubt anyone literally says "African American" or "white" to you. You might be over-sensitive about it, which could be why that's what you're hearing...

I have red-auburn hair and one of my charges has strawberry blonde hair. People always assume she is mine, even when I am with her and her mother (who has white/blonde hair). I hate having to tell everyone she is not my child. I don't even know how it feels for my MB when people assume I am the mother and she is right there. I say something if she is there, otherwise I usually just "smile and nod" and then walk away.

I am Filipino and my charges are 2 Arab siblings. An old white guy said "you look like the boy more than the girl!" I said "Oh, I am just their nanny!" and the white guy said "take it as a compliment!" LOL!!!

just walk away. I've always worked with children who look nothing like me and whenever I get a rude question, I give "are you crazy" look then walk away mid conversation.

My charge and I look alike, and I'm still asked if she's mine. Not a big deal and I'm not annoyed by it. Relax. Life's too short to be annoyed by every little thing. They're probably trying to make conversation.

I'm a dark skinned biracial woman with a fair skinned bio child and get the same questions. I agree, it's very rude.

Argh on my phone, and tried to fix the auto correct and it saved it. People are just rude when it comes to commenting on others looks. I know a Jewish mom with dark coloring who adopted a blond blue eyed girl and I look more like the girl than the mom does so I'm sure she gets questions too.

I'm white with fair skin, blue eyes and brown hair and got lots of annoying questions when I had a red haired charge. People usually assumed I was the mom though and asked lot of questions about my husband and ancestry and whether the red hair was a surprise etc. It was annoying too. In some cases (like with someone we'd see regularly) if say I'm the nanny and both parents have coloring like mine so it was a surprise but if out was some random person in public I'd just say no his dad doesn't have red hair and keep moving. If they didn't ask me a specific question, I wouldn't acknowledge them at all. are just rude when it vines to

I'm an AA nanny who is browned skinned with short natural hair and my two charges are both fair skinned with blond hair and blue eyes.
I hate when people come to me with annoying comments and/94 questions such as:
Are those your kids??
Why are you AA with around with two white kids??
Are you THE nanny??
Are you THE help??
Where's the kids mom??
