Why are you worried about your actions on camera being admissible as evidence? What the hell goes on when you're taking care of people's children in their homes?

Actually this is not true depending upon the state.

Exactly. 2:25am doesn't know what she's talking about.

That's just it. Not everyone cares to be a celeb on camera, especially if you don't know for sure how it'll be used in the future. You do comprehend that, don't you?

I've been filmed before, for a documentary. I am no actress and was totally not myself. I didn't like doing it, yet I knew I needed to for a good cause.

If I thought any family wanted to film me, I'd definately include details in the contract that protected my rights.

It's nice that your NF told you that they are installing them. I've worked in homes that had cameras attached to their home security systems and I've also had positions where I knew the families had cameras and never mentioned it in the interviewing process when I asked if they use nanny cams.

In my state, it's illegal to record audio without telling the nanny that there are cameras with sound. In fact, the familes could face legal issues if they were recording audio and didn't disclose to the nanny.

I don't mind nanny cams, as long as the family has the courtesy to tell me that they have them. If the parents want to log on while eating their lunch and see their kids playing, I'm okay with that. I can also understand the nannies who don't like nanny cams and feel that if you can't trust the person watching your child than you shouldn't have a nanny.

I get both sides but I know that if I ever had to leave my child with someone, I would have nanny cams. My friends who have children and discuss potentially hiring a nanny- I encourage them to use nanny cams.

Did they tell you if they'll be recording sound to?

Yes, I was very uncomfortable for the first few weeks. I'm sure I stared at them a lot. But I got used to them. It helps me that after the initially told me they had them, they never mentioned them. I don't even know if they watch the video or not, so I don't think about them much at all.

Wave and smile at the cameras at every opportunity.

The family I nanny for are going to be putting cameras in there house soon. They have been very upfront with me about telling me why and everything and I appreciate them telling me. I have no problems with the cameras going up, but I am a little uncomfortable knowing that I will be watched. Have any other nannies experienced this.. going from no cameras to having them? Any ideas on how to be okay with knowing they're going to be there?
