I'm new to the NCS world and have been trying to figure this out. I don't think it's a scam, but have come to realize there are people in the NCS world who have been around a long time that do not like or agree with the Certification. Personally where I live both agencies and parents want the certification, so it's a no brainer for me. I also don't think any certification that requires you to clock 1800 hours is worthless.

The one that was just put on in this area was a total scam. Nearly a hundred dollars to hear about different kind of bottles, and how to swaddle a baby. Gee thanks The woman teaching the class couldn't even answer any questions about the certification process. It'd be a better bet to simply buy the study textbook from the certifying body, take the test, and gather your hours on your own.

Here is the thing, these kind of certifications, they really do nothing to get you ahead of the pack when going after positions. Usually what employers say is that it looks nice on a resume, but an ECE is what they really like.

Don't waste your money on the INA Credential exam, you have to answer according to there book, and it is often opinion, it is expensive and does very little.

Agreed. Besides most parents have never even heard of it. If you want a memebership join NAEYC, it actually has a ton of information on child development since it's an organization for teachers. If you have a BA in a different unrelated field, get a certificate in ECE from a local community college.

Nanny trainings are pointless--just take some early childhood and child development classes.

With so many nannies looking for work

How do you feel about being sold on special nanny trainings

What about being sold on the idea that if you get the made up certification that you can make more money?

Really

I find it shocking to see those trying to make money off of those trying to find work
