Interesting that not of the leaders wants to share any data for her program, even though there are definately at least a few of them on this board.

I think most APs that entrer rematch don't find families and have to go home.

My general sense is that the 25-33% mark for rematch is about right.

Are these au pair programs subsidized in any way by the US government?

If they leave the program early they have to pay for their own ticket home. Apparently some of them stay in the program because they can't afford to leave the US even if they want to.

Not sure, you could ask a local coordinator about their experience if you are interested in the program. Our au pair has a few friends who have done rematches but it doesn't seem like too many anecdotally through her.

I don't know what the stats are. Rematching stats are about 1/4-1/3, but leaving early? Don't know.

She wasn't required to make a 12 month commitment to the program before they accepted her?

That seems really horrible. It's bad enough that these kids need to switch out sitters every year, but the stats are even worse than that.

Yes it would be nice to compare agencies

I've heard it's about 25%, but I'm not sure where. We've had APs for a while and there are always tons of them remarching it seems.

Don't the individual au pair business owners give out that info? How else can you intelligently compare one outfit from another? Seems that they would be legally required to disclose that data, no?
