Are you out of your mind? $20 is too high for a college educated TEACHER? This is a summer job for 3 children. $20 is the MINIMUM she should require. You clearly don't value education and or people in the childcare field. What does your nanny make? $6 an hour?

$20 an hour + helping herself any food she likes in your fridge + a little bonus at the end of the summer + a present from the kids.

OP here, thank you guys so much. I asked her and her initial response was that she was going to ask her friends about going rate. That was why I posted here - was hoping to get some responses before I heard back from her. $20 per hour sounds reasonable, plus mileage. Thanks again.

I'd say more like 25. Ask her.

No school teacher is going to take care of 3 children for less than $20 an hour. $16 an hour is an insult to a teacher...

Depends on your location. $20 is a better estimate if you're in the city, it will get closer to $16 the further out you live.

I am sorry because i really should do some searches to find this answer, but I am terribly unorganized and have no time. Can anybody help me with what to offer a school teacher that might be interested in acting as a nanny for 6 weeks this summer? I dont want this opportunity to slip away but we don't have a ton of money either. What is normal? Kids are 9, 9 and 12. Thank you so much.
