I agree with 17:54. Try to find something to do with the kids. I think just being able to spend time on herself even if she isn't sleeping would be a great gift!

This is a great idea, OP.

Can you get the kids out of the house so she can rest a little? long walk? picnic breakfast outside? play in the yard? that hour of the day would be perfect -- before it gets too hot!

sounds like a great gift!

MB here. I think this is a lovely idea. I can't sleep in the mornings either but it's a huge treat when I know I don't have to get up right away and can just lay around lazily.

Nice idea!

i would LOVE (!!!!) it. Also agree that the ways it makes sense is to work for free on Sat night but get paid in the AM on Sunday - otherwise if Sun is the "free part", she may feel too giulty and get up anyway, thereby ruining your reason for having gone over.

So that got me thinking - as a present for her (I haven't gotten her anything yet) I could babysit Saturday for free and than she pay me for a few hours Sunday morning.

I would be working Saturday from 9pm til they got home maybe midnight or 1. So it's only a few hours and the kids will be sleeping. They are up between 7 & 7:30. So I would have to get there before than.
I'm sure she won't sleep (it's a small house, but just not getting up could be nice).

My worry is she will feel like she needs to get up. Her husband can sleep thru a bomb so I know he will be fine.

Nannies have you done this? MB/DB what are your thoughts?

That's a lovely gift! Suggest it to MB.

I don't know if your plan is feasible or not. For my MB I did an evening, overnight, and morning so she and DB could spend the night away.
