Kudos to you, but that doesn't have anything to do with what OP was asking.

Stop being bitchy. OP is asking what a "daycare worker" might be earning.

Yes, a daycare teacher at a center. Not licensed child care in the "teacher's" home.

Odd that you picked this minimum wage job. It's in a very poor part of PG County, Maryland.

Sorry forgot to say this is the rate for teachers. Aides make minimum wage, but this is in Md. Va usually pay around 12-14$ an hour. $14 an hour IF you have a degree. I hope this helps.

Ask her. We don't know what other perks she might have or want. Your hourly rate is only part of the big picture.

I'm trying to "poach" one of my daughter's daycare teachers (my daughter is 18 months) to come work for me fulltime as our nanny. The teacher has been thinking of leaving the center and I would love it if she came to work for me. The thing is, I'm not sure what's she's currently making - I want to offer her a good, hourly rate but I don't know where to start. I'm clueless as to what she's currently making - how do I offer a competitive, hourly rate without knowing what she's currently making? Any suggestions or general ideas of what a daycare teacher makes at a daycare center (not an in-home center)? I know hourly nanny rates vary widely - I'm thinking between $12-$18/hour but that's a wide range. I don't want to offer her an hourly wage that might be insulting if she's currently making more. Thoughts?

Thanks
