Subject: Use of nanny family's neighborhood facilities?
I think it's totally fine to use the pool. Since you're supposed to be living there to have access, I would definitely tell them you plan to start using it so everyone can act like they knew you'd be there if they run into you on the weekend.

+1 Many require a pass of some sort. And many pools are not open yet -- not until Memorial Day weekend.
No pass required. It's a smaller pool/area where everyone minds their own business mostly. Of course the rules say "guest must be accompanied by the resident" but when mb mentioned it she said if anyone questions it to say I'm their live in...I'm there 50+ hours a week anyway. I've taken the kids on many occasions, so honestly people probably assume I do live there. We don't live in DC, so our pools here are open year round

I'd say, "Hey, I was thinking of taking you up on your offer to use facilities this weekend. Just wanted to make sure that's still okay?" and then they'll either say "Oh, you know actually ..." or "Of COURSE it is!"

Double check on their neighborhoods policy on the pool. I know in mine, residents can get a "caregiver" pass for their nanny/babysitter, but it is ONLY valid when the caregiver has the resident children with them.

They already said you don't have to tell them every time. I would definitely tell them that you are going to take them up in their offer to use the facilities, hopefully starting this weekend (if that's your plan), and leave it at that. I doubt you are going to want them up there every time you are there.

I'm the nanny for a great family, have been with them for nearly 4 years, and I love my job.
A year ago they moved into a new neighborhood (I'm a live out)...with a pool, walking trails, and large gym. They told me about 6 months ago that they meant to tell me when moving to the neighborhood that I'm welcome to use any of the facilities before or after work, on the weekends, whenever, and I don't even have to tell them when I'm there. I've never done it, but now that the weather is hot, the pool is looking great and I don't have access to any other pool, so I'd really like to go. But my question is should I mention it to them when I go up there on the weekend? Like would it be weird to tell them I'm thinking about taking them up on the offer and if they'll be at the pool to let me know? I just don't know how this sort of situation works? Any thoughts....
