I'm glad you found a good match, OP.
Here's hoping it stays that way and you don't have to rematch. I also looked at the smaller agencies and I think the thing that steered me away is the small pools to pick from...and if you need to goto rematch, the pool of rematch candidates is even smaller...and you may have to pull from out of country again.
So...hope it works out!!

OP here. I can assure you I am neither trolling, nor representing the agency. I just paid my deposit today to confirm my match. Forget I ever said anything if I'm just going to be sh*t on. Have fun with your 18 year old party girls.

This sounds like a trollish advert from the agency. Very desperate and unclassy.

Well, the OP sounds like an ad--an observation and not a criticism. I've not heard of this agency having much presence in the DC area. Anyone know AP numbers of this agency in this area?

I initially came here to get opinions on which agency to go with. I gathered that the top three were Aupair Care, Cultural Care, and Au Pair in America. I started exploring these, searching au pairs nearly every day, and was pretty unimpressed the types of candidates I was seeing. We wanted a German over 21 years old, with a decent amount of driving experience and a background in childcare, more than just babysitting experience. This has been nearly impossible to find with those top 3 agencies.
I don't know what made me head to Euraupair, but they don't make their au pairs viewable online without the family first signing up. Since it was free, I went ahead and registered, and the quality of the candidates just blew me away. I found at least 8 possible au pairs on my first search that were exactly what I was looking for. Within just days of signing up, I spoke with both the Area Coordinator and LCC for nearly an hour each and have their cell phone numbers. They both live very close to me, actually.
We just matched today with a really great girl who is 22, with a degree in early childhood education, and has significant driving experience. We really liked everyone that we interviewed, and they all had the same general qualifications. One told me that her profile had been active for 4 weeks and we were only the second family to contact her, which makes me think this agency is really underrepresented. That particular girl is 25 years old, has been driving since 2005, and has been a certified childcare worker since she left high school.
