I remember you, OP. why can't you get your license until next year?

Are you contacting families, or waiting for them to message you? You need to be proactive.

You have lots of spelling and grammar errors, missing words etc which is a turn off. Also, it's just way too long. Chop it in half and get rid of the whole second paragragh. It doesn't add anything. None of the things you list are special...it's all stuff you should be expected to do.

Are you replying to parents' ads? Because IME there just aren't a lot of families hunting through the nannies profiles, not when they can just post an ad and have everyone come to them. So replying to their ads with a well edited cover letter and having a thorough profile for them to look at if they wish can go a long way.

MB here. You have to have a photo. I have interviewed someone once without a photo who sounded fabulous and had a brand new profile, but without a photo, it just feels weird, like either you aren't willing to put in the effort, or you have some reason to remain anonymous. I put our kids' pics on our profile, and I want to see you, too.

Also, while I always run my own background check, I do appreciate what it says about the nannies who have paid for the basic one.

Finally, how are you explaining your availability for interviews? People may feel like you're too far away to interview unless you're at the top of their list.

I've been using care.com for years and have found many great jobs. I always post a professional photo. In addition to that, I paid the $8-10 for the background check. In your profile, be clear with what you are looking for and why you are a nanny. My profile screams how passionate I am about working with children. You don't need an upgraded profile. How much experience do you have? What rates are you asking for in NY? I have 10+ years experience and get paid $18-20 an hour in a major city on the east coast. Good luck.

How can I get my familes to write reviews for me...

Care has been great for me. I have met 20+ plus families over the last four years and received great feedback. I don't have an updated membership and I have NO picture on my profile. I prefer not to be judged by how I look before I can get a chance to even meet with a family.

I clicked on the link and can't see the profile, but what has worked for me I believe:

-CPR/First Aid certified
- Background check on file
-Positive feedback
-Hourly rate that is average market rate for the area
-Available on short notice, evenings, weekends

Well how much are you asking for? If you're one of those nannies who ask for triple min wage then many parents will look for less expensive care.. Sucks but true!

But yeah, I've heard alot of complaints about care.com however, I haven't used it and I don't no how many people complain since thousands use it.

Alot of agencies aren't any better so I don't know.

Why doesn't Care accept any of your photos? Are they too racy?

When considering posting a picture on a childcare website, I highly recommend one w/either you and another young child or one w/you and a pet. Make sure you are smiling and do not show any cleavage, tattoos and wild hair colors.

I am not sure if paying more to be higher up on the search forums is truly worth it. I have never spent a dime on any of the childcare websites.
Usually if a parent is interested in me, they offer to pay for my background and driving record check.

Care is not very good.
For your situation, it would be better to contact a professional nanny agency in the area you are going to locate to.

I have met many flaky families on Care.com.

I honestly would do an agency but I won't have my license until next year this time. Most of the agency's require a license.

If you want my honest opinion, care sucks. Period. You'd get MUCH better jobs through an agency.

I'm looking for a job out of state (Maryland to New York) and have been job hunting to a job on Care.com and would like to know how I can approve my profile to attract more familes? is it worth it to upgrade my membership? Also every time I try to post pictures they always never approve them. My redpferences are on there but I don't think they ever contacted them.
