If nannies ignored those pathetic rates then everything would be ok. The cheap parents wouldn't get offers and would have to eventually higher their rate. I'm not sure anyone would work for 100 per week but there are sitters who reply to min wage nanny jobs, etc..

It's soo tempting to respond to these type of posts. This wack job of a parent not only wants a full time nanny but a COLLEGE EDUCATED full time nanny with her own vehicle for $100 / wk for 11 hours per day (55 hours per week) -- LMAO

What bothers me is that she will probably find someone! There are only a few types of people that would take a job like this. Someone who doesn't need to work and is looking for play money, ie. doesn't take the job seriously, someone truly desperate, or someone looking to gain access to children. I agree with some MBs who say throwing a ton of money at a nanny doesn't necessarily make her a good nanny, but at a certain point the phrase "you get what you pay for" is quite accurate.

She even wants someone who has attended college. I work in the area where this was posted and I make $13/hr it is way below for the area.

they say this but then they allow parents to post BELOW minimum wage. So I pay think care is better, wake up and smell reality! Also, someone should message 'Jessica' to let her know how absurd she is. Make a fake profile or something so she doesn't go and write a negative review, because she probably will!

I just saw this ad on care.com. All I can say is wow.


I am searching for either an at-home nanny to come to our house while I am at work or someone who provides child care out of their home nearby- in between Kettering & downtown would be wonderful! My work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. so I would need someone from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. My daughter is 11 months old currently. She is a very easy baby- genuinely happy most of the time! She is in the laughing stage right now and not yet walking so it is a lot of fun! I'm not sure what a good pay-range is but I am really hoping to pay near $100 a week.

Nonsmoking is very important! I also would like someone who can be silly & make voices, someone who likes to make learning an important part of the day.
