They were from a different culture, and we had some communication issues. They literally had just come to the country about 6 months ago, so I'm pretty sure they had no idea what was and wasn't acceptable. I should have said something to them..... Oh well, that was years ago.

Yup, I've been there too. Later called into court to testify.

Another couple separated while I worked for them. I ended up being a witness in court in the family abuse and custody trials.

I'm going to ask my next family to sign something similar to a privacy agreement. My goal is to only be called to court if a judge thinks I have valid testimony/evidence.

A three year old who wrapped a balloon string several times around his 1 year old brother's neck. When I asked what might happen from doing that he replied "he might choke". I took the balloon away. Parent came home from work half an hour later and gave the balloon right back. Also the family who refused to fix the air conditioning during the summer when it was 90 degrees everyday. Of course, we had no car so we couldn't go anywhere.

I was working for a SAHM. Cray cray I know...She was one of those rich woman who hubby worked all day while she went to the gym, got her nails done, played tennis, etc. I cared for her baby + toddler and she just ordered me around.

So....for lunch my toddler charge was eating cucumbers that I cut for him.
His mother entered the kitchen fresh from a tanning session and exclaimed to me, "Why didn't you cut his cucumbers into animal shapes?? He ONLY will eat his veggies if they are shaped like zoo animals!!"
Yet, there he was, happily munching away.

I wanted to throw a cucumber in her face, but instead just walked out the door and never looked back.

Live-in rent exchange ended with me homeless because my boss decided to increase my "rent" and demanded that I be available at any time with little to no notice.

Was threatened with a lawsuit when I gave notice to a family that had wanted me to stay for 2 years. They had treated me like crap, but denied that I had good cause for leaving, and truly believed that our contract meant they owned me for the next 2 years.

Worked on a guest property in Montana with:
Horses
An unfenced pond
Wild forest behind property when a cougar was killed 2 miles from house while I lived there
River through the middle where an adult man drowned while I lived there.
Regularly saw foxes and coyotes
Guests who had no background check.

I made a rule that 5 yo girl could only be with me, with another ranch staff member, or in the main office area (where there were always staff). DB worked on the property and refused to back this rule. He thought 5 yo should have run of the property because she "is too smart to get close to______ "(fill in the blank with all the potential hazards on the property).

He also said that the only consequence allowed was taking away candy and tv--which I don't allow on a daily basis anyhow.
